What do you need?

The Comfort Club is $16.95 a month for a spring AC tune-up, a fall furnace tune-up, no $89 service call fees, 15% off repairs and priority scheduling. Cancel any time.

Most furnaces and air conditioners that fail on the coldest or hottest day had a warning sign a tune-up would have caught.

The plan covers one furnace and one central air conditioner or heat pump per home. Each additional system is $7 a month. It does not cover parts or replacement equipment.

What's included

Everything below is included in the $16.95 a month.

  • Spring AC tune-up. Coil cleaning, refrigerant pressures, electrical tests and a capacitor check.
  • Fall furnace tune-up. Burner and flame sensor cleaning, igniter check, carbon monoxide test.
  • No service call fees. The $89 service call is waived, any hour.
  • 15% off repairs. On the flat-rate price, parts and labor.
  • Priority scheduling. Members go to the front of the line in a heat wave or a cold snap.

Is it worth it?

Two tune-ups booked one at a time cost $198. The plan costs $203 a year and adds the waived service calls and the repair discount.

  • If you'd book tune-ups anyway. The plan costs about the same and adds the discounts.
  • If your system is past 10 years. Catching a weak capacitor or a cracked heat exchanger early is where the savings are.
  • If you never call for service. You may not need it. We'll tell you that.

What neighbors say

“Furnace quit at 11 p.m. in January with a newborn in the house. A person answered, a tech was here by 12:40, and the price was on his tablet before he touched anything. Bad igniter, $285.”
Kendra M. · Ankeny · Google reviewOwner reply: Thank you, Kendra. Nobody should spend a January night without heat.
  • “Water heater started leaking on a Sunday. They swapped it Monday morning and hauled the old one away. The quote matched the bill to the dollar.”

Luis P. · West Des Moines

  • “Our AC was 20 years old and I expected the replacement speech. The tech cleaned the coil and replaced a capacitor for $240, and told me to budget for a new unit in two or three summers. Honest.”

    Ruth A. · Urbandale
